About Dave
Dave Weikert grew up in Gettysburg, PA on Weikert's Egg Farm. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Education at Shippensburg University and earned his Master's in Education with a focus on instructional technology at University of Maryland, University College. He has been teaching computer software applications and computer repair certification at Northeastern High School in Manchester, PA since 2002. Computer applications taught have included Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Audition. Current courses taught are Microsoft Office Certification, Computer Repair Certification, Computer Networking Certification, Computer Security Certification, Linux Certification, and News Media Production. Dave earned his Certified Journalism Educator (CJE) credential from the Journalism Education Association in 2017. He is the adviser of the school AV student crew, and co-advises High Street Media Productions. He has co-coached students competing in the PA Media and Design competition (formerly the PA Computer Fair) every year since 2003. He served as the web master for Northeastern School District for five years (2008-2013), and served on the board of the Pennsylvania School Press Association from 2016 to 2020.
